Yes, Odin is right in what he says about how briefly humans live in comparison to them. But he's not quite saying they are actually immortal, just are when compared to humans. I mean in the MCU Frigga his wife was killed by the Dark Elves and Odin himself eventually died (he was never the same after Frigga was killed IMO). When you live like 5000 years to maybe a century for humans, yeah it seems like you've got immortality.

I am one of the few people I think has watched Thor The Dark World more than a few times and Odin tells Loki they are not gods: they're born, they live, they die just as humans do.
